Dr Rebecca O’Connor is an experienced academic researcher with over 10 years research experience in the health and wellbeing business sector. Rebecca is passionate about health and wellbeing initiatives and founded ROC Research Consultancy Ltd to enable her to focus on providing research evaluation services to projects that make a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing. Specific areas interest are whole system change through the lens of physical activity, organisational behaviours in partnership working, and healthcare commissioning. Rebecca uses predominantly qualitative methodologies and has challenged the traditional approach to evaluation that focuses on metrics and retrospective learning. With her clients, Rebecca is championing a collaborative approach to learning and insight, that digs deep into understanding how and why projects may or may not be effective. Using an active research style approach with ethnographic methods, Rebecca assists clients to adapt and evolve projects as the progress, allowing for positive change in the here and now as well as the future.
